Third work by this Canadian band that began their career with influences from eighties speed metal and that has managed to develop their own style.
«The Cross» opens fire with a Black Sabbath riff, a powerful voice and very careful melodies, it will surprise you. «Ignite» introduces progressive metal strokes and rage in equal parts. «Battle Of The Thames» meets all canons of rock. A calm start and a tremendous end leads them squarely to a cut from the 70s with a splendid work by the guitarist.
«The Ones Below» is a punch with a pounding, badass and rocker riff. We love the band’s adaptability to other genres that it also dominates.
«Foundations» is the title of the album for being the best summary of the band’s music. Its nearly nine minutes allow you to enjoy progressive passages, metal, cane and melodic in equal parts. There is no better business card. «O Canada (Bonus Track)» is the metal version of the Canadian anthem. Curious.
They are not one of many bands and they do treasure that good taste that the great bands of their country have left us for decades. Surely this time they do get the recognition they so much deserve. Good album.
