Tuvimos la suerte de conocer de que una de las bandas más prometedoras de Canada (Hamilton) y que vienen pisando con fuerza, gracias sobre todo a su espectacular disco «Hiraeth» (2021), estarían en una amplia gira por territorio español, nada más y nada menos que seis fechas.

Por desgracia tuvimos la mala suerte que su paso por Madrid, fuera decepcionante, no por culpa de ellos, sino debido a un nefasto sonido, que ya en las pruebas de sonido anticipaba que la puesta en escena de las tres bandas iba a ser una quimera que todo sonara medianamente bien.

Pudimos realizar una entrevista con la banda, que podéis ver en nuestro canal de YouTube, que fue quizás lo más positivo de la experiencia y comprobar que son una banda cercana, amable y con los pies en la tierra. Debido a los tiempos de la entrevista y procesarla, el ir y volver a la sala, nos fue imposible degustar de Unnamed, una banda interesante y que esperamos poder disfrutar en un futuro.

Vanagloria, nos ofreció su peculiar estilo Thrash Metal, muy cuidado y con un cantante, Luis M. Merino que le gusta interactuar con su público. Un detalle que gusta a los fans y en donde lo vimos incluso bajarse a cantar junto a los pocos asistentes de esa noche. La banda tuvo problemas con la intro del tema «Epitafio» si no me falla la memoria, que luego pudo interpretar sin más complicaciones. Aún así sonaron cortes como «La dinámica del miedo» o «Sigue lloviendo» que causaron furor entre sus fieles. El guitarrista Iván es otro de los pesos pesados de la banda y que nos dejo una buena impresión en sus solos.

Lutharo, por fin salió a escenario, en donde hizo a copió de tocar su nuevo álbum, disco que posee grandes cortes como «Wings Of Agony» una de mis favoritas o “Lost In A Soul” y “Blood Lightning” entre tantos buenos cortes. Pero al final lo que destaco, fue el pésimo sonido de la sala que privo a las bandas abridoras de un sonido acorde a lo que merece una agrupación y ni que decir de los estelares Lutharo, en donde solo se escuchaba la batería y la voz de Krista tampoco muy bien definida y las guitarras y el bajo, era indescifrable. Una pena la verdad, dada la calidad de la banda, por lo que el evento se convirtió en un martirio más que en un disfrute. Incluso se les notaba en la cara a los mismos músicos. Tanto fue así, que el mismo Victor Bucur al finalizar el evento, me confirmo y sabía que el sonido había sido muy malo.

Nos quedan las imágenes de sus anteriores actuaciones en España, Zaragoza, Barcelona y el festival «Rock en Femenino», por citar algunas, en donde parece que fue genial tanto en sonido como en público. Es muy complicado analizar un evento, cuando el sonido es tan malo, por lo que nos queda el buen trato de la banda para con la entrevista, que fue lo único positivo de la jornada y que la banda supo liar con las inclemencias de su actuación en Madrid. Esperamos verles de nuevo en otra ocasión, esta vez si en mejores condiciones y así disfrutar de su enorme calidad.

We were lucky to find out that one of the most promising bands in Canada (Hamilton) and that they have been going strong, thanks above all to their spectacular album «Hiraeth» (2021), would be on an extensive tour of Spanish territory, nothing more and no less than six dates.

Unfortunately we had the bad luck that their time in Madrid was disappointing, not because of them, but due to a disastrous sound, which already in the sound tests anticipated that the staging of the three bands was going to be a chimera that everything sounded fairly good.

We were able to conduct an interview with the band, which you can see on our YouTube channel, which was perhaps the most positive part of the experience and proved that they are a close, friendly and down-to-earth band. Due to the time of the interview and processing, going to and from the room, it was impossible for us to taste Unnamed, an interesting band that we hope to enjoy in the future.

Vanagloria offered us his peculiar Thrash Metal style, very careful and with a singer, Luis M. Merino, who likes to interact with his audience. A detail that fans like and where we even saw him get down to sing along with the few attendees that night. The band had problems with the intro of the song «Epitafio» if my memory serves me correctly, which they were then able to perform without further complications. Even so, cuts such as «The dynamics of fear» or «Sigue lloviendo» sounded, which caused a furor among his faithful. Guitarist Iván is another of the band’s heavyweights and he left us a good impression on his solos.

Lutharo finally went on stage, where he played his new album, an album that has great cuts like «Wings Of Agony» one of my favorites or «Lost In A Soul» and «Blood Lightning» among so many good cuts . But in the end what stood out was the lousy sound of the room that deprived the opening bands of a sound according to what a group deserves and not to mention the stellar Lutharo, where only the drums and the voice of Krista wasn’t very well defined either and the guitars and bass were indecipherable. A shame really, given the quality of the band, so the event became a martyrdom rather than an enjoyment. It was even noticeable in the faces of the musicians themselves. So much so, that Victor Bucur himself, at the end of the event, confirmed me and knew that the sound had been very bad.

We are left with the images of his previous performances in Spain, Zaragoza, Barcelona and the «Rock en Feminino» festival, to name a few, where it seems that he was great both in sound and in public. It is very difficult to analyze an event, when the sound is so bad, so we are left with the good treatment of the band for the interview, which was the only positive thing of the day and that the band knew how to mess with the inclemencies of their performance in Madrid. We hope to see you again on another occasion, this time if in better conditions and thus enjoy its enormous quality.
