Fundada en Estambul en 2010 e inspirada en gigantes de la escena como Nightwish, Dream Ocean siempre ha sido de los que han puesto el listón alto por sí mismos, y se nota. Tras esta introducción general y necesaria para conocer a la banda nos metemos de lleno en su segunda obra «The Missing Stone» un disco más introspectivo en donde podemos valorar la maduración de una agrupación, tras grabar su segundo esfuerzo. Toda esa experiencia acumulada y buenas sensaciones que nos dejaron con su primera obra «Lost Love Symphony». Su nuevo disco inicia tras una introducción prolongada e intuitiva que da paso a su primer tema «Dark Miracles», una canción con dulces melodías que Basak lidera con esa original y especial voz. El tema posee fuerza y un espectacular arreglo orquestal que nos engulle por completo en su dinámica y que además acompaña unas voces guturales masculinas, para reforzar la potencia del corte, son detalles sutiles pero que dan un subidón de adrenalina al tema.

Uno de los elementos del disco que me ha gustado, es que es un álbum para dejarse llevar y que requiere una escucha consensuada y pormenorizada de cada uno de sus temas, por los interesantes detalles que envuelven sus canciones. No es un disco agresivo o veloz, sino más bien muy melódico y lleno de singulares texturas que hacen de su escucha un momento único y especial. Que no sea agresivo, no significa que no posea fuerza, la tiene y mucha, solo que estamos ante un álbum que vendría a ser como una pintura de arte, que necesita observarse, en esta caso escucharse con detenimiento y sin prisa, porque estamos ante una joya artística musicalmente hablando.

«Pendulum Of Time» un tema además extenso, resume a las mil maravillas lo expuesto anteriormente, un tema rebosante de cambios y brillantes gestos. Me ha gustado la pausa y la línea creativa que posee este disco. Es cierto que el peso del mismo o su base recae en la voz de Ylka, que es la que marca los pasos, pero la gestión rítmica, solos y arreglos orquestales han creado en su totalidad una obra muy original, que se sale de los estereotipos, por mucho que lo quieran comparar con otras bandas como Epica, Nightwish, Powerwolf, que si bien es un gesto positivo, Dream Ocean en este segundo trabajo se ha ganado crear y mantener un estilo y por tanto un sonido propio.

«As I Die» es otro de esos temas que me han marcado, por sensaciones y base rítmica, además de su entrada triunfal con la voz de Ylka y esos coros que acompañan por momentos la canción, la delicada entrada en «Eternal Espera», las campanadas en «Daydreamer», la misteriosa «Song To The Ocean», la extensa y enigmática «The Missing Stone» toda una declaración de intenciones en un corte épico brutal. Un disco muy interesante para descubrir, que no revelará sus secretos en su primera escucha y que necesitarás volverlo a escuchar y dejarte llevar por su magia y esos detalles que le rodean.

One of the elements of the album that I liked is that it is an album to let go and that requires a consensual and detailed listening to each of its songs, due to the interesting details that surround its songs. It is not an aggressive or fast album, but rather very melodic and full of unique textures that make listening to it a unique and special moment. That it is not aggressive, does not mean that it does not have strength, it has it and a lot, only that we are facing an album that would be like an art painting, which needs to be observed, in this case listened carefully and without haste, because we are facing an artistic gem musically speaking.

«Pendulum Of Time», a subject that is also extensive, sums up the above, a subject brimming with changes and brilliant gestures. I liked the pause and the creative line that this album has. It is true that the weight of it or its basis falls on Ylka’s voice, which is the one that marks the steps, but the rhythmic management, solos and orchestral arrangements have created in its entirety a very original work, which goes beyond stereotypes. No matter how much they want to compare it with other bands like Epica, Nightwish, Powerwolf, that although it is a positive gesture, Dream Ocean in this second album has created and maintained a style and therefore its own sound.

«As I Die» is another of those songs that have marked me, for sensations and rhythmic base, in addition to its triumphal entry with Ylka’s voice and those choruses that accompany the song at times, the delicate entry into «Eternal Espera», the chimes in «Daydreamer», the mysterious «Song To The Ocean», the long and enigmatic «The Missing Stone» all a declaration of intentions in a brutal epic cut.
