Un álbum de metal con muy buen gusto.
La banda procedente de Orlando, Estados Unidos, nos ofrece un nuevo esfuerzo denominado «What The Dead Men Say» un disco que podríamos definir como; un disco de metal muy variado. Quizás su principal basa radica en hacer sencillo lo complicado y eso ha quedado plasmado de forma brillante en este nuevo álbum con diez cortes intensos y heterogéneos que hacen de su escucha un momento muy divertido.
El disco posee peso y mucha fuerza, los solos son dinámicos y brillantes, bastante amplios, como en la última «The Ones We Leave Behind» que además del consecuente solo, hacia el final posee otro con el que terminan el disco o la introducción que no deja de ser llamativa y nos prepara de cierta forma a su nueva embestida.
Tanto para los más entrenados en su sonido, como para los nuevos seguidores, «What The Dead Men Say» es un disco que se escucha con facilidad ya que posee un camino sencillo de seguir, ya que no suelen salirse de esa linea y por ello es más asequible acompañarles el rastro o comprender su propuesta. Esto no quiere decir que el disco sea monótono o aburrido, todo lo contrario. Basta con dejarse llevar por el corte que da nombre al disco y su alucinante solo, que sin duda quedara marcado a fuego al escucharlo.
Quizás sea «Catastrophist» el tema elegido como sencillo, el que mejor enmarca la variedad de opciones que nos ofrece el disco, con esos originales cambios de ritmo, pasando incluso de algunas secciones, digamos más «comerciales» a otras más fuertes y agresivas. Pero como citaba al inicio, ese es uno de sus puntos, haber conseguido un disco sencillo de comprender y por tanto de escuchar.
Uno de mis temas favoritos por sensaciones, forma de cantar y cambios de ritmo ha sido «Amongst The Shadows & The Stones«. Una canción que posee una fuerza especial, una rítmica aplastante y pegadiza y unos cambios increíbles. Y cuando parece que acaba, toma fuerza de nuevo para seguir sorprendiéndonos. Además como suele ser en todo el disco en general, han conseguido un sonido muy compacto, un factor imprescindible, que permite degustar con claridad cada detalle y este tema, valla que los posee.
Si hablamos de detalles tenemos el sonido del bajo en «Bleed Into Me» y la estructura en general del tema, muy opuesta hasta lo escuchado al momento, con una cierta pasividad muy llamativa que va creciendo y decayendo a lo largo del corte. La agresividad de «The Defiant» en sus inicios y lo bien que combinan las voces limpias con las guturales. La batería en «Sickness Unto You«.
Por si fuera poco, es uno de esos discos, que conforme lo vais escuchando vas descubriendo nuevos gestos, detalles que a la postre enriquecen la escucha y por tanto el disfrute del disco. Ese es sin duda otro punto alto en todo nuevo álbum y Trivium lo cumple a la perfección. Un disco de Metal puro, simple y con muy buen gusto.

The band from Orlando, United States, offers us a new effort called «What The Dead Men Say» an album that we could define as; a very varied metal record. Perhaps its main basis lies in making the complicated simple and that has been brilliantly reflected in this new album with ten intense and heterogeneous cuts that make listening to it a very fun moment.
The album has weight and a lot of strength, the solos are dynamic and bright, quite wide, as in the last «The Ones We Leave Behind» which, in addition to the consequent solo, towards the end has another with which they end the album or the introduction that It is still striking and prepares us in a certain way for its new attack.
Both for those who are more trained in their sound and for new followers, «What The Dead Men Say» is an album that is easily listened to since it has a simple way to follow, since they do not usually go out of that line and therefore it is more affordable to accompany them on the trail or understand their proposal. This does not mean that the album is monotonous or boring, quite the contrary. It is enough to let yourself be carried away by the cut that gives the album its name and its amazing solo, which will undoubtedly be set on fire when you listen to it.
Perhaps «Catastrophist» is the song chosen as the single, the one that best frames the variety of options that the album offers us, with these original changes in rhythm, even going from some sections, let’s say more «commercial» to others that are stronger and more aggressive. But as I mentioned at the beginning, that is one of his points, having achieved a simple album to understand and therefore to listen to.
One of my favorite songs for sensations, singing and rhythm changes has been «Amongst The Shadows & The Stones». A song that has a special force, an overwhelming and catchy rhythm and incredible changes. And when it seems to end, it picks up strength again to continue surprising us. In addition, as is the case with the entire album in general, they have achieved a very compact sound, an essential factor that allows you to clearly taste every detail and this theme, the fence that owns them.
If we talk about details we have the sound of the bass in «Bleed Into Me» and the general structure of the song, very opposite until what was heard at the moment, with a certain very striking passivity that grows and declines throughout the cut. The aggressiveness of «The Defiant» in its beginnings and how well clean voices combine with throaty ones. The drums on «Sickness Unto You«.
As if that were not enough, it is one of those albums, which as you listen to it you discover new gestures, details that ultimately enrich listening and therefore the enjoyment of the album. That is without a doubt another high point in every new album and Trivium fulfills it perfectly. A pure Metal album, simple and with very good taste.
