ATAQUE DE FURIA INGLESA
Nos llega una joya inglesa, pero no hablo de las joyas de la “Corona” (con el debido respeto a quienes simpatizan con esos temas, pero vaya tela con la monarquía de los huevos… en fin); hablamos de una joyita de Kaña y furia desatada que proviene desde England. Porta una vibra frenética y además ilustra un encuentro de influencias de la vieja escuela del Death Metal, con señas de Trash (y que llega incluso a sonar Cross-Over, por momentos); sumando a ello, las declaradas trazas de Punk kañero desenfado a las que la propia banda apela. Menudo pollako, ¿no?
No os quiero liar demás, pero las cosas como son y sin rodeos. Aunque el párrafo introductorio se lea un poco descabellado, os juro que no lo es. Se trata de la propuesta de los Repulsive Vision y su segundo álbum, “Necrovictology”; a tomar por saco los clichés acerca de lo que se puede o no se puede hacer, y de eso van estos tíos.
Quizás la música de este cuarteto de Burrow-in-Furness (Cumbria, Inglaterra), va más allá de las expectativas de algún oído purista que esté directamente “casado” con cualquiera de los géneros que se manifiestan en este álbum; pero bueno, eso es decisión de cada quien. Desde mi perspectiva, su composición, contenido, influencias, interpretación y arreglos; están más cerca de ser una amalgama bien lograda, que de caer víctimas de cualquier adjetivo negativo/despectivo. Como os decía antes, las cosas como son; “Necrovictology” os ofrece un viaje que hace recordar la fuerza que en algún momento de la historia plantó una semilla, misma que sirvió para esculpir las bases de las manifestaciones más extremas de la música que a todos y todas nos mola. Para que os hagáis una idea, su sello nos remite a la anotación promocional: “Para fans de Carcass, Bolt Thrower y Benediction” … ¿lo pilláis, cierto?
A propósito, creo que es válido hacer también una anotación alusiva al sello que acuerpa este álbum, se trata de Emanzipation Productions; quienes se han esmerado por hacer una promoción integral, con la respectiva nota formal de prensa concerniente al disco, su contenido, marcadores, material promocional, etcétera. En esta época compleja, la era de las bandas independientes y de las dificultades del ‘music business’; se agradece la diligencia orientada a posicionar el esfuerzo de bandas del underground mundial, y a mi parecer, estos tíos de Repulsive Vision se lo merecen, justo para conmemorar sus 10 años de existencia con la llegada de “Necrovictology”.
Musicalmente, creo que este álbum se caracteriza por la potencia frenética, fuerza, rabia, Kaña y tralla (vaya tela); las líneas de bajo, fuertes y contundentes llamaron mi atención también, no suele ser la norma, y en mis apetencias personales, un bajo con identidad y peso propios, es bienvenido totalmente. Las influencias manifiestas en la música NO acaban por ser una emulación deslucida, todo lo contrario. A mi parecer, rinden homenaje a las raíces, a la vez que permiten a Repulsive Vision desarrollar el estilo que nos presentan, uno muy particular que creo os resultará cuando menos interesante. Deciros que el álbum también cuenta con la participación de Phil Hall (Municipal Waste / Iron Reagan) y de Max Otero (Mercyless) como invitados, quizás eso ayude a que os suenen algunas campanas por ahí.
Esta “nueva ola” de Death/Death Trash y/o Trash Metal que ha florecido, me suena a un aire nuevo que revitaliza a cada subgénero; no la llamaría moda, no la llamaría nueva tendencia; siempre ha estado ahí y siempre ha tenido su sitio, por ello gracias Repulsive Vision… ¡Que viva Burrow-in-Furness y al carajo la ‘sangre azul’!

ENGLISH FURY ATTACK
An English jewel comes to us, but I’m not talking about the “Crown” jewels (with all due respect to those who sympathize with these issues, but what a fabric with the monarchy of eggs… anyway); we are talking about a Kaña gem and unleashed fury that comes from England. It carries a frenzied vibe and also illustrates a meeting of influences from the old school of Death Metal, with signs of Trash (and that even sounds Cross-Over, at times); adding to this, the declared traces of unconcerned punk punk to which the band itself appeals. What a cock, right?
I do not want to mess you up, but things as they are and bluntly. Although the introductory paragraph reads a bit far-fetched, I swear it isn’t. It is about the proposal of the Repulsive Vision and their second album, “Necrovictology”; to take the clichés about what can or cannot be done, and that’s what these guys are about.
Perhaps the music of this quartet from Burrow-in-Furness (Cumbria, England), goes beyond the expectations of some purist ear that is directly «married» to any of the genres that are manifested in this album; but hey, that’s everyone’s decision. From my perspective, its composition, content, influences, interpretation and arrangements; they are closer to being a successful amalgamation than to falling victim to any negative / derogatory adjective. As I said before, things as they are; “Necrovictology” offers you a journey that reminds you of the force that at some point in history planted a seed, which served to sculpt the bases of the most extreme manifestations of music that we all love. To give you an idea, his label refers us to the promotional entry: «For fans of Carcass, Bolt Thrower and Benediction» … you get it, right?
By the way, I think it is valid to also make an allusive annotation to the label that embodies this album, it is Emanzipation Productions; who have taken pains to make a comprehensive promotion, with the respective formal press release concerning the album, its content, bookmarks, promotional material, and so on. In this complex era, the era of independent bands and the difficulties of the ‘music business’; The diligence aimed at positioning the efforts of bands from the world underground is appreciated, and in my opinion, these guys from Repulsive Vision deserve it, just to commemorate their 10 years of existence with the arrival of “Necrovictology”.
Musically, I think this album is characterized by frenzied power, strength, rage, Kaña and tralla (what a fabric); the bass lines, strong and forceful, also caught my attention, it is not usually the norm, and in my personal desires, a bass with its own identity and weight is totally welcome. The influences manifested in the music do NOT end up being a lackluster emulation, quite the opposite. In my opinion, they pay tribute to the roots, while allowing Repulsive Vision to develop the style that they present to us, a very particular one that I think will be interesting to you. Tell you that the album also has the participation of Phil Hall (Municipal Waste / Iron Reagan) and Max Otero (Mercyless) as guests, maybe that will help you ring some bells out there.
This “new wave” of Death / Death Trash and / or Trash Metal that has flourished, sounds to me like a new air that revitalizes each sub-genre; I wouldn’t call it fashion, I wouldn’t call it a new trend; it has always been there and has always had its place, so thanks to Repulsive Vision… Long live Burrow-in-Furness and to hell with ‘blue blood’!
