Crítica de Vándalus

La banda se presentaba el día de Andalucía de 2020 en Sevilla haciendo un sincero homenaje a las bandas más conocidas del rock andaluz (género músical que tuvo su auge entre 1979 y 1983 aproximadamente). «Indiferencia» mezcla casi el pasodoble de carnaval con coros de Medina Azahara y con una parte rock cercana a Deep Purple. La letra está muy trabajada y la banda se amolda a los pasajes más progresivos con soltura.

«Mi tierra» suena a Triana y a Medina Azahara por los cuatro costados tanto para lo bueno como para lo malo. «Salud y rock andaluz» ignoramos si su título es un guiño al titán del Clot o un simple deseo de agradar. El riff se sale de los estrechos cánones del género y el tema también lo que se agradece muchísimo. Recuerdan a Asfalto bastante y es, sin duda, el mejor corte del EP.  «Veo» es un medio tiempo progresivo con un final más cañero. La canción está bastante trabajada y apunta maneras.

El resultado es adecuado si te gusta este tipo de música que tuvo su justificación durante los antedichos años como apoyo a la campaña por el referéndum de Andalucía y que ahora quizá quede un tanto desfasado y lleno de clichés. De hecho, Medina Azahara escaparon del género en el 92 demostrando que hay distintos caminos para seguir haciendo rock andaluz, pero sin sonar a nadie en particular. Como EP de presentación nos parece un buen ejemplo de las horas de vuelo de sus componentes. Cuando se enteren de que son andaluces que hacen rock, como dice el inmenso Perico Ramírez de Tabletom, seguro que se convierten en una banda de rock setentero que puede triunfar en Andalucía sin ningún tipo de problema.

The band was performing on Andalusia Day 2020 in Seville making a sincere tribute to the best-known Andalusian rock bands (a musical genre that had its boom between approximately 1979 and 1983). «Indifference» almost mixes the carnival pasodoble with Medina Azahara choirs and a rock part close to Deep Purple. The lyrics are very elaborate and the band adapts to the more progressive passages with ease.

«My land» sounds like Triana and Medina Azahara on all four sides, for both good and bad. «Salud y rock andaluz» we do not know if its title is a nod to the Clot titan or a simple desire to please. The riff departs from the narrow canons of the genre and the theme is also greatly appreciated. They remember Asfalto quite a bit and it is, without a doubt, the best cut of the EP. «Veo» is a progressive halftime with a poorer finish. The song is quite elaborate and points ways.

The result is adequate if you like this type of music that had its justification during the aforementioned years as support for the campaign for the Andalusian referendum and that now may be a bit outdated and full of clichés. In fact, Medina Azahara escaped the genre in ’92, showing that there are different ways to continue doing Andalusian rock, but without sounding like anyone in particular. As a presentation EP it seems to us a good example of the flight hours of its components. When they find out that they are Andalusians who rock, as the immense Perico Ramírez from Tabletom says, they will surely become a seventies rock band that can succeed in Andalusia without any problem.
