Ross Harding, el cantautor sudafricano, regresa con su nuevo EP ‘Chapter II’, un trabajo de cinco cortes cargados de la esencia de lo mejor del rock, grunge y blues. El EP posee una magia propia ya que cada tema posee a su vez, una delicadeza y fuerza especial, producto sobre todo a la adecuada mezcla que consigue Ross con estos tres estilos. Es por ello que degustar estas canciones se hace toda una aventura, ya no solo por lo variado de las mismas, sino por la esencia y texturas que transmite.

Ya desde la apertura de «Black Sun Blues», atrevida, y sigilosa, nos da una referencia de lo que nos vamos a encontrar en este nuevo trabajo de Harding. Los temas van creciendo paso a paso como dentro de una neblina particular que luego da paso a toda la brillantez de las creaciones.

Son de esos trabajos que se degustan en profundidad y cuando acaban, tu sed musical, necesita más y a cada nueva escucha «Chapter II» te ofrece nuevos panoramas. Me encanto como los cortes van y vienen, con lo mejor de cada estilo, siendo el rock el hilo que los une con ajustados riffs de guitarra que nos devuelven a la esencia misma del estilo, a lo básico, pero creado con el alma.

«Blood and Bones» son de esos temas que te hiela la sangre por como entra la voz casi en solitario y luego los demás instrumentos se acoplan a ella majestuosamente. Una canción lenta pero que su base rítmica transmite fuerza, siendo sin duda una de mis favoritas.

Un EP muy afectivo, en el que Ross ha sabido sacar partido a lo mejor del rock, grunge y blues, creando con ello cinco canciones muy arraigadas a la esencia misma de estos géneros, sumado a su peculiar voz y manera de concebirlas, estamos por tanto no solo ante cortes muy originales, sino unos que transmiten emociones muy fuertes.

Ross Harding, the South African singer-songwriter, returns with his new EP ‘Chapter II’, a five-cut work loaded with the essence of the best of rock, grunge and blues. The EP has a magic of its own since each song has, in turn, a delicacy and special strength, a product above all of the adequate mixture that Ross achieves with these three styles. That is why tasting these songs becomes an adventure, not only because of their variety, but also because of the essence and textures that they transmit.

Already from the opening of «Black Sun Blues», daring, and stealthy, it gives us a reference of what we are going to find in this new work by Harding. The themes grow step by step as if inside a particular mist that then gives way to all the brilliance of the creations.

They are one of those works that are tasted in depth and when they finish, your musical thirst needs more and with each new listen «Chapter II» offers you new panoramas. I loved how the cuts come and go, with the best of each style, rock being the thread that unites them with tight guitar riffs that return us to the very essence of the style, to the basics, but created with soul.

«Blood and Bones» are one of those songs that make your blood run cold because the voice enters almost alone and then the other instruments join in majestically. A slow song but its rhythmic base transmits strength, being without a doubt one of my favorites.

A very emotional EP, in which Ross has been able to take advantage of the best of rock, grunge and blues, thus creating five songs deeply rooted in the very essence of these genres, added to his peculiar voice and way of conceiving them, we are not only before very original cuts, but also ones that transmit very strong emotions.
