La banda de New Jersey que comenzó su andadura en 2018 regresa con u doble disco bajo el brazo. En lo musical se ubican en el metal alternativo, pero con guiños constantes a tendencias poderosas que incluso entroncan con el death técnico, como ocurre en la genial «Beyond the sinking».

Al enorme trabajo del vocalista se añade una potente labor del batería y el bajo de la que queda constancia en «End with me».  «We are if we dare» es puro metal de los 90 con pinceladas del presente siglo.  Nos han gustado bastante otros temas como «A darker motion», con una atmósfera sonora muy lograda, «Gather your bones», con tintes progresivos, y «Twisting on the points» por su innegable pegada.

Es en el segundo disco donde se esconden gemas llenas de valor y siempre sorprendentes. Sirvan como ejemplo «Symptoms of dying», un medio tiempo enorme, «In this destruction», una instrumental preciosa, «Bleak machine», con elementos novedosos que rompen los parámetros sonoros de los temas anteriores, e «If only given time», un broche de oro atmosférico que cierra el círculo.

El esfuerzo ímprobo de la banda por no ofrecer más de lo mismo y por forjar su propio estilo es indudable. Álbum para paladear con gusto y para encontrar todos los detalles ocultos que lo convertirán, con total seguridad, en uno de los mejores discos de todos los que se editen en 2022.

The New Jersey band that began its journey in 2018 returns with a double album under its arm. Musically, they are located in alternative metal, but with constant nods to powerful trends that even connect with technical death, as in the great «Beyond the sinking».

To the enormous work of the vocalist is added a powerful work of the drummer and the bass which is recorded in «End with me». «We are if we dare» is pure 90’s metal with touches of the present century. We quite liked other songs like «A darker motion», with a very successful sound atmosphere, «Gather your bones», with progressive overtones, and «Twisting on the points» for its undeniable punch.

It is in the second disc where gems full of value and always surprising are hidden. Take for example «Symptoms of dying», a huge mid-tempo, «In this destruction», a beautiful instrumental, «Bleak machine», with new elements that break the sound parameters of the previous songs, and «If only given time», an atmospheric flourish that closes the circle.

The strenuous effort of the band to not offer more of the same and to forge their own style is unquestionable. An album to savor with pleasure and to find all the hidden details that will make it, with total certainty, one of the best albums of all those released in 2022.
