Crítica de Mr. Bison – «Seaward»

De la Toscana para el mundo, el potente trío italiano estrena su tercer disco con sus parámetros sonoros intactos y con tremendas ganas de seguir encontrando sendas que les permitan derrochar su concepto del rock. «Seaward» abre el fuego con una atmosférica intro instrumental que desemboca en un riff de stoner rock monumental que no tardan en mezclar con melodías hard rock que entran a la primera. Sorprendente.

«From the abyss» tiene un arranque casi folk que revientan a guitarrazo limpio con pinceladas de Thin Lizzy. ¿Se puede pedir más? Pues sí, como por ejemplo que se te ponga la piel de gallina con la melodía vocal y con los tintes psicodélicos de este temazo. «I’m the storm» es puro Black Sabbath de la última etapa con Ozzy, el solo de bajo con tintes de jazz y la melodía forman un corte que podría haber firmado Frank Zappa.

«Oudeis» arranca con un órgano a lo Jon Lord y con un riff con el que te dejarán sin aliento. En este corte hay rabia, genialidad, originalidad y muchísimo rock. «The sacrifice» parece un tema que podría haber firmado el mismísimo Steve Ray Vaughan, aunque pasado por el tamiz de la modernidad y el sonido de garaje, enorme.»Underwater», se acerca el final del disco y hay que poner las cartas sobre la mesa y vaya si lo hacen. Otro riff hipnótico, pasajes tranquilos con melodías que son casi un mantra y un desarrollo de rock progresivo convierten a la canción en una de las mejores del disco. «The Curse» cierra, con sobresaliente, este trabajo mezclando los elementos ya comentados. Riff poderoso, energía, músculo y salvajismo, mezclados siempre con esos momentos más tranquilos, ayudan a pensar que este es el mejor remate para tan magna obra.

Cuando un grupo se la juega sin red, cuando no hay ni trampa ni cartón, cuando se cree ciegamente en la idea que hay que desarrollar, el resultado es este. Disco magnífico para los que se aprenden las canciones con dos escuchas y para todos los que quieran disfrutar de sensaciones fuertes y de un rock ejecutado con el corazón.

«From the abyss» has an almost folk start that burst with clean guitar with touches of Thin Lizzy. Can you ask for more? Well, yes, for example, you get goose bumps with the vocal melody and the psychedelic overtones of this great song. «I’m the storm» is pure Black Sabbath from the last stage with Ozzy, the bass solo with jazz overtones and the melody form a cut that could have been signed by Frank Zappa.

«Oudeis» opens with a Jon Lord-style organ and a riff that will take your breath away. In this track there is anger, genius, originality and a lot of rock. «The sacrifice» seems like a song that Steve Ray Vaughan himself could have signed, although it passed through the sieve of modernity and the huge garage sound. «Underwater», the end of the album is approaching and you have to put the cards on the table and boy they do. Another hypnotic riff, quiet passages with melodies that are almost a mantra and a progressive rock development make the song one of the best on the album. «The Curse» closes, with outstanding, this work mixing the elements already mentioned. Powerful riff, energy, muscle and savagery, always mixed with those quieter moments, help to think that this is the best finish for such a great work.

When a group plays it without a net, when there is neither cheat nor cardboard, when they blindly believe in the idea to be developed, the result is this. A magnificent album for those who learn the songs with two listeners and for all those who want to enjoy strong sensations and a rock played with the heart.
