Crítica de EVERLIGHT - "Momentvm"

La banda originaria de Tlalnepantla, Estado de México, editan su nueva joya musical. Tras una llamativa introducción que consigue toda nuestra atención gracias a una original combinación de efectos en poco menos de un minuto, lo justo para prepararnos al embiste de su nueva obra. «Frenetic» será por tanto el primer corte con el que nos enfrentaremos y no podía estar más adecuado este nombre para definir en si misma esta canción. El tema es frenético de principio a final, porque consigue condensar en poco más de tres minutos distintos estados de animo, ritmos y cambios de estilo que resulta muy original, incluso una sección con voces guturales, que jamás te esperarías hacia el final de la canción. Esto no es más que el resultado de la capacidad creativa de la banda que se encuentra en un momento cumbre y «Momentvm» viene a ser el mejor ejemplo de todo ello.

«XXI» fue un tema que ya nos mostraron hace unas semanas y sirvió como primera toma de contacto de la banda para con sus fans y en el que desarrollan un corte muy melódico con muchas reminiscencias al progresivo lo que nos ofrece una vez más el amplio abanico musical con el que cuenta esta banda. Un corte con secciones pausadas que delimitan también con el Pop Rock, de allí que su digestión sea más sencilla, pero no os equivoquéis, si algo posee Everlight es que ningún tema es lo que parece, en cada canción encontrarás originales pasajes e inesperados cambios de ritmo que harán de su escucha un momento muy enriquecedor.

«Fractals» nos transporta al rock más clásico, gracias a su base rítmica y a un inicio muy tradicional dentro del estilo, aún así os lo avisaba antes, el tema va transformándose gracias a esos pequeños detalles que solo ellos saben añadirle, para retomar luego la senda de un rock más progresivo. «Static» fue uno de mis temas favoritos, por la energía que transmiten en un tema llena de fuerza y porque no decirlo, muy mala leche. No es extraño que escuchemos de nuevo, voces guturales que son a la postre las que le añaden todo ese poder adicional. El apartado melódico, los solos y el vertiginoso cambio de ritmo que nos encontraremos hacia la mitad del corte en medio del solo es simplemente alucinante. Este es otro de sus muchos fuertes, sus solos son muy variados lo que le da un punto de atractivo enorme a todo el álbum.

Es por todo ello que en temas como «Never Gone» en donde incluso la banda se adentra a añadirle ciertos detalles electrónicos, que antes de alarmarnos, nos encandilan de nuevo añadiendo una nueva formula a su original sonido, cuando menos lo esperábamos.

Podemos resumir que su nueva obra «Momentvm» es un monumento al buen gusto, al metal, al rock y en general a la música hecha con el corazón y que la amplia calidad de sus integrantes se han encargado de ir moldeando poco a poco. Un disco con amplios tintes progresivos en su base y en la que luego añaden una serie de estilos y géneros dando por resultado un disco variado, fresco y muy animado, en el cual en cada nueva escucha estas destinado a descubrir nuevos paisajes, nuevas texturas en un trabajo muy completo de principio a fin y en el cual no encontrarás un solo tema similar al anterior, otra de sus fortalezas en este nuevo disco.

After a striking introduction that gets our full attention thanks to an original combination of effects in just under a minute, just enough to prepare for the onslaught of his new work. «Frenetic» will therefore be the first cut that we will face and this name could not be more appropriate to define this song itself. The theme is frenetic from start to finish, because it manages to condense in just over three minutes different states of mind, rhythms and style changes that are very original, even a section with guttural voices, which you would never expect towards the end of the song . This is nothing more than the result of the creative capacity of the band that is at a peak moment and «Momentvm» is the best example of all this.

«XXI» was a song that they showed us a few weeks ago and it served as the band’s first contact with their fans and in which they developed a very melodic cut with many reminiscences to the progressive, which once again offers us the broad musical range that this band has. A cut with paused sections that also delimit with Pop Rock, hence its digestion is easier, but make no mistake, if Everlight has something it is that no song is what it seems, in each song you will find original passages and unexpected changes of rhythm that will make your listening a very enriching moment.

«Fractals» transports us to the most classic rock, thanks to its rhythmic base and a very traditional beginning within the style, even so I warned you before, the theme is transforming thanks to those small details that only they know how to add, to later resume the path of a more progressive rock. «Static» was one of my favorite songs, because of the energy they transmit in a song full of force and why not say it, very bad milk. It is not strange that we hear again, guttural voices that are ultimately the ones that add all that additional power. The melodic section, the solos and the vertiginous change of rhythm that we will find towards the middle of the cut in the middle of the solo is simply amazing. This is another of his many strengths, his solos are very varied which gives a huge point of appeal to the whole album.

It is for all this that in songs like «Never Gone» where even the band goes into adding certain electronic details, which before alarming us, dazzle us again by adding a new formula to their original sound, when we least expected it.

We can summarize that his new work «Momentvm» is a monument to good taste, metal, rock and, in general, to music made with the heart and that the wide quality of its members have been in charge of shaping little by little. An album with broad progressive tints at its base and in which a series of styles and genres are then added, resulting in a varied, fresh and very lively album, in which in each new listening you are destined to discover new landscapes, new textures in a very complete work from beginning to end and in which you will not find a single song similar to the previous one, another of its strengths in this new album.
