Crítica de BRING OUT YOUR DEAD – «Bring Out Your Dead»

Una manada de viejos lobos del metal se unen en un proyecto que combina los parámetros más clásicos con una vuelta de tuerca más que interesante. «Macedonia» abre el fuego con una intro inquietante que le da paso a una melodía de metal melódico de lo más interesante. Los juegos de voces, la excelente producción y la influencia de un montón de bandas fundidas en un género propio convierten a la canción en un fantástico corte.

«In the blink of a snake’s eyes» tiene un riff cercano al thrash de los ochenta combinado con armonías elegantes y con una estructura del metal del siglo XXI, otro pelotazo. «Mad girl’s love song» es el descanso del guerrero, la pincelada de post-rock necesaria, la creación de atmósferas de alto interés y el uso de elementos que te permiten dejarte llevar con facilidad por su calidad.

«90» tiene elementos en su introducción que la conectan con el tema anterior…hasta que el riff te destroza las meninges. Esto es metal progresivo de excelente calidad combinado con otras tendencias como el nu-metal. El ejercicio compositivo es sublime, tanto como la frescura, la creatividad y la energía que derrocha la banda. «Hot Geremot», una intro atmosférica, que sirve casi de hilo narrativo del disco, desemboca en un riff a lo Slayer mezclado con pasajes más a lo Rush. Si el nivel musical de la canción es superlativo, el juego de voces es impresionante.

«Outrun» es un experimento sonoro que viene bastante bien para demostrar que el grupo también domina las bases electrónicas y las nuevas tendencias. «Rain over fire», tras la intro, tiene un riff que recuerda a los Judas Priest más recientes, pero con adornos a lo Dream Theater que te sorprenderán. Una vez más, siempre tienen en la manga un cambio de ritmo, una melodía o una sorpresa para romper con la monotonía.

Si piensas que ninguna banda de las nuevas está a la altura de las de los 80 o que el metal está en un callejón sin salida, escucha este disco. No tardarás en reconocer tu error al descubrir un grupo que viene a por todas y que se merece tu reconocimiento por su indudable calidad.

The voice games, the excellent production and the influence of a lot of bands cast in a genre of their own make the song a fantastic cut.

«In the blink of a snake’s eyes» has a riff close to the thrash of the eighties combined with elegant harmonies and a 21st century metal structure, another great shot. «Mad girl’s love song» is the warrior’s rest, the necessary post-rock brushstroke, the creation of atmospheres of high interest and the use of elements that allow you to easily let yourself be carried away by its quality.

«90» has elements in its introduction that connect it to the previous theme … until the riff rips your meninges apart. This is excellent quality progressive metal combined with other trends like nu-metal. The compositional exercise is sublime, as well as the freshness, creativity and energy that the band exudes. «Hot Geremot», an atmospheric intro, almost serving as the narrative thread for the album, leads to a Slayer-style riff mixed with more Rush-like passages. If the musical level of the song is superlative, the voice play is impressive.

«Outrun» is a sound experiment that comes in handy enough to demonstrate that the group also masters electronic bases and new trends. «Rain over fire», after the intro, has a riff reminiscent of the most recent Judas Priest, but with Dream Theater decorations that will surprise you. Once again, they always have a change of pace, a melody or a surprise to break the monotony.

If you think that no new band is up to the 80’s or that metal is in a dead end, listen to this album. It will not take you long to recognize your mistake when you discover a group that comes for all and deserves your recognition for its undoubted quality.
